An exciting web presence is crucial for freelance web consultants and developers like Simon Baumer. The New York City resident came to me asking for a stimulating re-design that would facilitate superior interaction with future clients as well as assist in the frequent updating of his blog. Wanting a graphical representation that would visually illustrate that he lived in the city, his request for a stylistic mix of grunge and retro led to the creation of a distinctive website that is sure to catch the eye of existing and future clients alike.

I focused Baumer’s re-design around a grungy and hand drawn aesthetic - drawing a skyscraper around the primary container of the site. I repeated this visual effect along the edges of the site, and the skyscraper and icons I drew by hand were uploaded via scanner along with other elements within the design such as pieces of tape and background images.

The design process included concept sketches, hand-drawn elements, and Photoshop.
